700 Eleventh Street is a 12-story office building with approximately 302,000 square feet of office and retail space and parking for over 324 cars in a five-level underground garage. Completed in 1992, the building is located four blocks East of the White House on a site bounded by 11th, G and 12th streets with on-site access to the Metro Center Station.
Designed by David Childs of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, 700 Eleventh Street projects the classical strength of Washington's monumental stone buildings. At street level, an extensively landscaped plaza features a series of welded bronze sculptures by acclaimed artist Richard Hunt. The building's impressive two-story lobby reinforces Washington's character with a central rotunda, Italian marble floors and walls of mahogany and bird's eye maple.
